Culinary Arts
Culinary Arts is a growing program in schools across Georgia. This program is designed for those wanting to learn the "art" of cooking and for those wanting to continue in the Culinary Arts field. Career opportunities include:
- Sous chef
- Prep cook
- Pastry chef
- Kitchen manager
- Garden manager
- Banquet chef
- Restaurant entrepreneur
Opportunities in the Culinary field are high in demand, wages and skills. Individuals in this pathway gain knowledge in diet, nutrition, food preparation, costs and budgets, and culinary technique. As society looks for more convenience, this increases the demand for dining establishments with skillful employees.
Culinary Arts pathway courses include:
- Introduction to Culinary Arts
- Culinary I
- Culinary II
Successful completion of Culinary Arts courses prepares the student for ServSafe Certification, an industry recognized credential.
Students in the Culinary Arts pathway have the opportunity to be dually enrolled with Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC).
Dual enrolled students earn 12 college credit hours and the Prep Cook TCC (Technical Certificate of Credit).
