Barbering

Introduction to Barber/Styling is designed to give an overview of the barbering profession. Students are taught the fundamentals of barber/styling tools. Emphasis will be place on the maintenance and care of each tool. 

Topics include:

  • Barbering history
  • Personality development
  • Professional barbering ethics
  • Professional barbering image
  • Safety and welfare of the barber/stylist/patron
  • Reception and telephone techniques

The courses available in the Personal Care Services - Barbering pathway include:

   Personal Care Services

  • Introduction to Personal Care Services
  • Barbering Assistant

Successful completion of the Personal Care Services - Barbering courses allows the student to receive the completer cord and Technical Certificate of Credit. 

Students in the Personal Care Services pathway are dually enrolled with Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC). 

Barbering at HCCA gives students 9 college credits.

  • Completed Application
  • GPA: 2.0
