Air Conditioning Technology
Learning opportunities develop academic, occupational, and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement.
The program emphasizes a combination of air conditioning theory and practical application necessary for successful employment. This includes hands-on experience with working equipment.
Program graduates have the qualification of an Air Conditioning Technician.
Students in the Air Conditioning Technology pathway are dually enrolled with Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) and have an opportunity to earn two Technical Certificates of Credit in:
- Air Conditioning Technician Assistant (AZ31)
- Air Conditioning Electrical Technician (ACK1)
- Year 1 - 12 college credits
- Year 2 - 12 college credits
CGTC Dual Enrollment Requirements
- Completed Application
- GPA: 2.0
Receive a total of 24 hours college credit for:
- AIRC 1005 Refrigeration Fundamentals
- AIRC 1010 Refrigeration Principals and Practices
- AIRC 1020 Refrigeration Systems Components
- AIRC 1030 HVACR Electrical Fundamentals
- AIRC 1040 HVACR Electrical Motors
- AIRC 1050 HVACR Electrical Components and Controls
